Not everybody in our families’ prior generations was lucky enough to travel for pleasure or on their own accord.

Countless tales about relatives from the past were often told around the dinner table. Whether celebrating oodles of family events or at casual family dinners in the kitchen, everybody was listening, or laughing, or crying.

Sometimes different stories were told at the same time by different people, until one tale finally prevailed. Those stories would go on and on, long past bed time – maybe because these stories were interesting or perhaps, because nobody wanted to be the first to do the dishes. When we were young, none of us thought that at some point we would be the only ones around to sing those songs – some funny, some tragic – family tales that deserve to be remembered.

It’s not a history book – it’s a mosaic of the episodes in their lives. That is what the Time Travel section of this Blog is about.
